SMTown Concert 10/23/11 @ MSG

I had the time of my life yesterday at the SMTown concert held in Madison Square Garden! I've never been to a concert that lasted four whole hours with so many performers. Although standing on the floor for four hours wasn't a fun thing to do, I had already expected it from the experience I had at the JYJ concert back in May. The good thing about this time was that I was able to move around the floor to take pictures at various angles compared to just standing in one spot. The floor was pretty spacious and you can roam around as much as you can as long as you don't pass over to the other sections. It was just awesome to be able to move freely. The concert time was said to start at 7pm so I met up with Yaffers, Bon and Lui to enter the arena at around 6:45pm.

The seats that I originally bought were in the Mezz area so Bon and Lui were able to enter where everyone else was entering. Yaffers and I were seated in the GA2 section so we actually had to make a detour to the 8th Avenue entrance to get our wristbands to get into that section. It took us a while to find the entrance but was excited as ever when we found it. We felt like VIPs because we had a special entrance way. When we finally got to our section, we found that a lot of the people were already crowded near the metal fences that separate the stage from the audience. We just hung out and waited for the concert to start. Since there were no seats, we were able to walk around the whole section freely. It's actually good because we can move around to take pictures from different angles. We waited a while and I took some pictures of the arena. It was so packed with people!

After standing there waiting for about 20 minutes or so, the concert finally began. Everyone was screaming, pushing and shoving to fight for a good spot.

SHINee's up next. They start off with Stand By Me, a song from the Boys Over Flowers OST...

SHINee introduced themselves. Key did most of the talking and I realized one thing. These boys are really, really skinny! They don't look that skinny on TV. I guess the camera does add ten pounds.

SHINee got the crowd really excited! There was A LOT of screaming when they were performing their songs. Some girls standing next to me were screaming so loud, I think they kinda punctured my ear drums a little. Their screaming pitches were so high! I had to move away from them. Taking pictures were just as hard as taking videos. Whenever the artists move, the audience move with them. So when they're at the little stage at the front, everyone just stampedes towards the little stage vicinity. When they move back to the bigger stage, everyone stampedes back. I think I can imagine how that would look like looking from a higher point of view. We must've look hilarious to the people sitting on the side who see all of this happening...LOL! Up next was Key and Krystal's duet, First Kiss...

and then Seo Hyun and Kyu Hyun's duet, Way Back Into Love...

My first impression of Seo Hyun seeing her in person was that she's really pretty. She has a very innocent and angelic face. I was astounded by her beauty. She definitely looks even skinnier in person than she already is on TV.

Next up were the "rappers". ShinDong, EunHyuk, MinHo and Key strut their stuff on stage with their rapping skills...

All the men get ready cuz SNSD is up next! No matter what they do, they seem to get the crowd screaming louder. All the guys standing around us were ALL holding up fans with one or two of the girls pictures. Some even bought the Soshi pink tshirts and wore them while they dance along. That's some dedicated fans there. I, for one, are most envious of their faces and body. They are all so pretty in person and those legs of theirs...amazing how they keep them so nice and slim. Sooyoung was absolutely skin and bones...she's is so so skinny. The girl who surprised me the most was Yuri. I have to say and please don't hate me, Yuri fans but I am not a big fan of Yuri. I don't hate her at all. I just don't her as much as I like some of the other members. But, wow...she really is very pretty in person. She has the sweetest face and smile. Sunny had her short hair cut and she looks really good in it. Thru out the night, only Sunny, Sooyoung and Yuri really waved and looked to our side. Yoona and SeoHyun waved also. But I really wished the other girls would come over more. Anyways, without further ado, here are the performances from Girls Generation. Up first is Run Devil Run...

After Run Devil Run, they did their introduction. Everyone was able to greet in English very well. SeoHyun had a little trouble finishing her sentence but I think she was just really nervous. She said "It's really an honor to be...It's really an honor to be..." and the audience just finished it for her "here" lol..she's so cute. She was a little embarrassed. Tiffany jumped in and said something that I couldn't make out but she asked us to give an applause so we did. I'm not sure if it was Seohyun or for Sooyoung who was the next to speak. I say this because Sooyoung had a car accident recently and she had just recovered so I don't know if Tiffany asked for the applause to give to SeoHyun to encourage her or to give to Sooyoung to cheer her on. But we all gave the applause nonetheless. The last to intro were Tiffany and Jessica. Tiffany complained that everyone before her used up all the greetings and she can't think of a greeting to use so she just asked the fans to give her some noise...hehehe. She also acknowledge that the fans made the concert happened. I didn't know anything about the flash mob at Central Park in July who protested to have SMTown come to New York until I read up on it. It WAS the fans who really made it happened. Thank you to all the fans who really made this happened. Tiffany and Jessica went on to promoted a little for their new album and told us when it will be released. Here are some pictures of their intro.

I seem to have missed Kyuhyun's intro. It's ok, I have pictures of him from his duet with Seohyun. After the intro SJM sang their newest song, Too Perfect 太完美. They are definitely improving in their Chinese, esp Kyuhyun. His pronunciation is pretty good. Here's pictures of their Too Perfect performance...

I don't seem to see Siwon here. He must be busy filming Poseidon so he couldn't come. Now I'm glad Yunho was only a cameo in the drama because he could attend this concert. I really looked forward to seeing him and Max so I'm glad they were there.

Once again, SNSD took the stage with their happy song, Ha Ha Ha...

Suju and BoA came out to performed after respectively. I stopped taking videos with my camera because it only had one more bar of battery and I tried to not take too many pictures too. I started filming the past few performances with my camera already but I didn't want to use up the battery because DBSK hasn't even come out yet. So I was saving it for them. Here are some pictures I took of the next three songs from Suju (Miracle Remix and Dancing Out Remix) and BoA (Look Who's Talking)...

Now is when all the songs are worth screaming for. The next several songs were awesomeness! SNSD changed their outfits to their white uniforms and came out on the smaller stage for Genie...

And then my camera battery totally died out on me. Sigh...no more photos...so I only wait for the songs I like. Suju came out to perform Mr. Simple, Don't Don, and Kangta once again took center stage with a dance song. I sneaked in a couple pictures with my phone when SJ was singing Mr. Simple...

Next came fx with Hot Summer...

and while I was watching SHINee perform, I notice this guy standing in front of me with a design shaved on his hair. I looked closely and realized it was Tiffany's name. He must be a dedicated SNSD fan. He had FANY shaved out. I wasn't able to take a picture of the whole design because he kept looking the other way. I was only able to get the Y and part of the N...

SNSD came out again with their princess outfits for their new song, The Boys...

Onew came out and performed an Italian opera song. Never would I ever imagine that such a song would be performed at a Kpop concert. But it was nice to hear something different. It just means they are THAT multitalented.

Next up was the dance battle between the "dancers" of the groups. Eunhyuk, Shindong, Donghae, Taemin, Minho, Hyoyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Sooyoung, Luna and Victoria rocked the stage with their awesome dances...

A few of the songs before had used some awesome stage effects such as fireworks, fire, and lazer. Everytime fireworks was used, it scared me because I was always facing the little stage when it happens and so I wasn't able to capture it in my pictures.

BoA came out once again to perform 3 more songs, Eat You Up, Copy & Paste and Energetic.

NOW...FINALLY...it's DBSK time!!!!! An awesome entrance they had indeed. Being slowly brought to stage from the end of the tiny stage with wires, they descended on stage with much anticipation. Everyone was screaming...yes, including ME! Every time the stage darkened up, I was hoping they were next and it wasn't. When I least expected it, they appeared at the end of the tiny stage held up by wires. All the fans on the other end was going crazy waving and screaming. Being so close up to them must have been awesome and they were held up in the air so it felt like they were just floating there in their handsomeness positions...it was totally to die for. Here's their awesome entrance, medley (The Way U Are/Mirotic) and Maximum performance. I was afraid I would lose some parts of their performance if I saved each part so I just kept the video going until Maximum was done. Their medley bought back memories...

and then they introduced. I think Yunho's mic was having technical difficulties. I couldn't really hear him...

Max announced their next performance at the end of their intro and here it is...Before U Go. If you haven't already saw their MV the dance version, you should here because you'll immediately know which parts I screamed the loudest LOL!

You know what time it is? It's Yunho Time! Keep Your Head Down was next...

You can probably tell that I was screaming every few seconds. I was just so happy and excited to see them perform live, right in front of me. It was an amazing feeling! They rest and fx comes out with their final song of the night, Pinocchio (Danger). I regret not filming this performance because I had no idea this was their last song of the night =( At least I took some pictures of them.

Same with SHINee's last song of the night Lucifer. I didn't even take pictures too =*(

Here is SNSD's last song of the night...the all famous GEE. Everyone sang along...Gee Gee Gee Gee Gee! Bravo to them for winning 8 weeks in a row with this song on the Korean Music Channels. This song is my all time favorite from SNSD.

Suju's last song of the night was U which I had no idea so no pics of them too...sigh...

And DBSK's last song of the night, Rising Sun. Although they performed this without the other three members, I think it was a message from them to us saying that the other three members were still part of DBSK. They still think and miss them. As I listen to the two sing this song, I imagine in my head the music video of this song and who's part they were singing. I think I cheered the loudest here...just for the fact that it makes me think of the other three members a lot and how they would be performing this together as five. The two pulled off the song well. They covered all the parts nicely and Yunho almost made me cry at the very end of the song because that was the way he would dance when they were performing as five. Enjoy!

BoA came out to sing Hurricane Venus and that bought the concert to an end. Everyone changed into their SMTown concert Tshirts and came out for the finale.

The concert comes to an end at 11:20ish. I was so tired. My back was aching from standing and my neck was stiff from looking up for 4 whole hours. This was the longest concert I've been to. I'm surprise there was no encore. I read in the paper the next day that Yunho had said "Thank you, New York" but I didn't hear it at all. During the whole finale, everyone was just so loud which was understandable and at some point, a blizzard of white confetti came gushing out which made it really hard to film. It was blocking my view and some of it were going into my mouth, ack! And all the people standing around me were either jumping, waving or holding up posters/towels. BUT, I didn't give up. I found whatever space I can and continued filming until the end. Although I was aching all over, I had a really good time. I anticipate a concert from SMTown next year. It's a concert you all should not miss if you love Kpop.

Here are the wonderful tickets that my boss gave us for free and streamers that spewed out while SJ was performing Mr. Simple. Everyone grabbed whatever they can, scrunched them up and used them as pom poms for cheering. What a smart idea that was!

I actually saw them perform this song at an event and then went looking for it. The MV was done very well. The dance was WOW and they are just heavenly. I love their attitude in this music video. A girl cheats on them with another man. She gets caught and she still lies about it. So you know, GET OUT! I was surprise to hear the F word in the lyrics but it's also a great little expression to show the feeling of the song. Love it and hope you guys love it too!

This song is super good! Love the melody and the sad lyrics. I heard Jaejoong wrote this song in memory of Park Yong Ha. I read that Park Yong Ha had contacted JJ for a drink but b/c JJ was in the US doing promos for their Beginning album, he was unable to meet up. The next day, PYH died. Shortly after, PYH's father also passed away. Now JJ is taking care of PYH's mother. What a sweet boy! Back to the MV, I absolutely love Junsu's expression when he opened the door and saw Song Ji Hyo. Hehehe...he's uber adorable! He should act in a drama too! Every one of the DBSK members already acted in a drama already except Junsu. So he should definitely give it a try. The story behind this MV is to cherish your love ones so you won't regret it in the future because reality is not like the MV where you'll be given another chance.

JYJ Concert 5/22/11 at Prudential Center New Jersey

I wished, hoped, dreamed and waited for one day to see DBSK in concert. Although it wasn't the five of them, I think even with just three of them, it has fulfilled one of my dreams. It was an awesome night. At first, I didn't think I would even be able to go because tickets were already so scarce and expensive. But my boss suggested I check out Craigslist and low and behold I found tickets for seats on the floor for half price! Floor tickets go from $200 to $400. This person was selling their $200 tickets for half price. So I quickly emailed them hoping the tickets were available. They didn't get back to me until two days later and said the tickets were still available. YAHOOOOOO! The seller emailed me the tickets and I knew that from then on, I was REALLY going to see them!!!

On the day of the concert, Ya Fei and I went to have dinner first and then took the Path train into New Jersey to the concert hall. The ride there didn't take that long but we got lost a little bit when we got out. We finally saw some concert goers and just followed them. I started jumping for joy when I spotted the concert hall. As we got closer, we notice how long the line was. Never underestimate the popularity of international singers. I know how popular they are in Korea and Japan but because I don't personally know anyone that like them so I didn't think a lot of people would know them. Boy, was I wrong. Not only were there teenagers but there were also men (surprise to see a lot of them) and ajummas (older woman, mother's age) that were there waiting on line. Dads that came with their daughters, husbands that came with their wives and boyfriends that came with their girlfriends. It was amazing to see all these people who love JYJ/DBSK.

So anyways, YF and I walked over to those people giving out free light sticks and bracelets. We got ours and went on line to get in. After a while standing on line, I felt so out of place. Everyone who were in front of us had either huge banner cards with words of encourage/love on them, or they were wearing T-shirts with JYJ on it. Even the ajummas were wearing really nice T-shirts. Some of the shirts were DIYs and some were professionally made. We, on the other had, had nothing. I wasn't even wearing red, the official color of DBSK. Sigh...well..at least I was wearing the earrings from them and I have Micky's name on my bracelet. But that was the least of my worries. I was worried about our tickets. The tickets were printed on a piece of paper so I was afraid the barcode might not be readable and I won't be able to go in. When the guy finally scanned my paper and told me okay, I was overjoyed! So we headed upstairs to the second floor to enter the arena. This is the same place where the Nets play basketball and the Devils play hockey so it was pretty big. First, we went to use the bathroom and then went to buy some water cuz we knew we would be screaming. Water inside the arena were sold without the caps because apparently, without the caps, they don't throw as far. AND it was FOUR WHOLE DOLLARS!!! I told myself I will drink every little drop of that water. So we headed into the arena. It was breathtaking to see how big it was and to see that the screens already had "JYJ" playing on it.

We walked down from the top to the floor where our seats were. After we got seated, I took a look around the people sitting near us. A lot of them had red T-shirts on and had personalize lights of either Micky or Junsu. People had Mickey Mouse ears with lights and pink towels with Junsu's name on it. This is the second time I felt out of place. Then after sitting for about 15 minutes, a video came on showing the dance moves to one of their songs. Everyone around us knew how it went and was dancing along with it. Third time I felt out of place. I had no idea there was even a video teaching how to dance to that song. There was a group in the front close by teaching the people around them a chant. And here I thought only fans in Korea chant. Gosh, I felt so old and so so out of place.

When 8:00 hit, everyone started to get antsy. I figure people were still trying to get and find their seats. I saw that a lot of the seats on the side were still empty. All the seats on the floor were filled tho. I wonder why it was so hard to find tickets when there were so many seats left. At around 8:10pm, the lights dimmed and everyone started chanting "JYJ" and that's when it all began...

But when they came out, everyone stood up and

those seats that were meant to be sat on were probably

stepped on or crawled on.

The screen started the introduction and at this point, everyone was screaming and were out of their seats already. I whipped out my camera and got it ready for their entrance. The music started and from somewhere we heard Micky say "Yo, ready?" Everyone was at the top of their lungs! And slowly the three of them rose to the stage and the first song started. At this time, everyone on my row to the right of me had already ran to the middle isle. People to my left was probably staring at me waiting for me to go too so they can go. But I was taking the video and I didn't want to move.

When they finished their first song, I finally moved to the middle isle and everyone who were waiting for me to move stampede to the middle too. In the middle of their second song, I realized I left my bag under my chair. I told YF to get it for me cuz I was in the middle of a video. But people had crammed into each of the rows that she wasn't even able to go back to our seats. She had to crawl on the chairs to get back. The $4 waters we bought with no caps had spilled. So much for drinking every little drop of it. At this point, they had finished their second song and everyone was screaming. Then, devastation occurred. My camera said I had no more space. WTF!!! NOW?!?!?!?! So I switched it back to photo mode and it had only 40 pictures of space left. How will that be enough when they just finished their second song!!! NOOOO!!! But I couldn't think that much. I just kept shooting, hoping to get good shots of them. When my camera said no more space, I flipped thru all the pictures and deleted all the bad ones and continued snapping pictures. It must have been like the 3rd or 4th song when I totally didn't have any more picture space left. Oh GOD, why did I not delete all the old pictures from my camera? I had initially checked my camera to make sure I had enough picture space. I had 900 plus picture spaces so I thought I would have more than enough. It never occurred to me that I would be taking videos too. The videos took up so much space. What to do!? My phone camera was very slow and the quality won't be as good as my camera. So I had to bite my tongue and delete the second video I took to make more space for photos. That gave me another 60 more pictures. At that time, I thought I would be okay that I had deleted the video because I could use my phone to take more videos later on. So here are all the pictures I took with the space after deleting my precious video.

Here is where I started using my phone

to take pictures. I had absolutely no more space

left on my camera. =(

I noticed the quality of the pictures were not as good as the ones from my camera and the time it takes for my phone camera to be ready for the next picture is just too, too slow so for the rest of the songs that night, I took videos of them. So here they are. After the first one, you'll probably know why I regret so much deleting that second video on my camera.

Terrible audio, right? I know!! WTF! But I didn't even have time to replay and check on it because the next song started right afterwards. So for the rest of the videos, please mute the volume and just watch them. If you want to hear the song, just youtube it. I'm positive there's a concert version much, MUCH better than mine. Even though only the video part is good, just watching it is still worth it. They came so close up (even though it doesn't seem so on the video) so even if I knew the audio would be bad, I would still shoot the video. They were just awesome! See Junsu giving so many smiles!? That was super exciting. Everyone kept screaming every time he smiled. Our little dolphin has such a cute smile. Hope you enjoy the rest of the video, muted.

This is the first song of their first encore. It has a nice beat to it. And coming up front dancing like that just made every single girl in front at the top of their lungs. Hence why you see all the hands! And even with a fast song like this, they were dancing hard but still were able to sing it live so well. They are truly great performers.

This was a good interactive song. All of us sang when they gave the gestures with the mics facing us. The dancing was impeccable. And Junsu's hand stand was WOWzers! They took off their jackets and showed their concert t-shirt. I really wanted one. Before the concert started, I overheard the girl sitting in front of us ask the girl next to her where she bought all the stuff they were wearing and the special glow sticks. That girl said people were selling them upstairs. WTF!! How come I didn't see anyone selling them?? Boo them for not announcing it while we were waiting on line outside the center.

Song title: In Heaven

This is the second encore song and also the last song of the night. I don't know if my phone camera knew this was the last song or something but the audio was a little better. I could at least hear the music in the beginning. This music was the exact music that was playing before the concert started. It's a beautiful tune. Everyone was given a white glow stick in the beginning of the concert and the direction was to wave it when this song came on. But I cracked my stick long before this last song came on. I saw other people waving it already so I cracked mine to wave along too. But even when this song came on, everyone was waving their red light sticks and the white glow stick. The directions told us to put all the red light sticks away, even our red bracelets and only wave the white one because the song title is "In Heaven" so waving the white one would be most appropriate. Oh wells, everyone was just too excited about the concert that they didn't care anymore. The song ended too fast. Micky told Junsu to say something to the audience. He kind of hesitated but I think Micky said it's okay to say it in Korean. So Junsu gave a short little speech and they said their last goodbyes and left the stage. Boo hoo hoo!!! =*(

So that's how the concert ended. We went back to our row to find Yafei's umbrella and to our surprise it was still there. I also found my $4 bottle water was still there untouched. YF's bottle spilled all over the floor. I would've taken mine but YF said leave it since we don't know if anything fell in. Oh wells, so much for drinking every single drop of it.

The next day, my neck muscles and shoulders were so sore. Holding up the camera for two hours straight and keeping my head up wasn't an easy job. But all the pains and sores were all worth it. I fulfilled one of my dreams - to seem them in concert. Although it wasn't all five of them, it was still all good. Maybe some day, the other two will have a North American tour and I'll get to see them or even better, they might get back together and do a Comeback World Tour. That, my friends, would be awesome!

I love this song!! The melody is so nice! Changmin really has a nice voice for ballads. I really miss hearing them sing ballads. I guess this satisfies a portion of it. The rest of it i guess will have to wait until they become one again. I can't here what he's saying but I love the little soft rap that Yunho says right before the chorus comes on. That part has a very lovely feel to it. I love everything about this song. The vocals, the music, the melody and the fact that it makes me miss the 5 of them so so much.

The theme song to Athena was nice too. I'm sure I'll love it once I start watching the drama because it'll keep playing and grow on me.

The Lunar Eclipse

A rare sight. I almost forgot about until a friend mentioned it. I immediately took out my camera to capture the moment. The moon was REALLY far away so my camera was almost unable to find it even with the zoom on. But I was able to find it finally and took some very amateur pictures of it. Yunho casted to Poseidon

I read that Yunho will be one of the cast members for the new drama, Poseidon. It's an action drama and Yunho's role will be a coast guard. Rumor has it that Jaejoong was originally the cast but they changed it to Yunho. Not sure how accurate it is but does it matter? Both are DBSK boys so you'll support either one anyways, right?? And isn't it weird that his name in the drama will be Yun Jae? First, Jae was suppose to be the role and now Yunho takes it...YunJae...YunJae couple!!! Oh GOD, I miss them together. Anyways, this drama will be airing May 2011 so please anticipate and watch!

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

While everyone is out for Black Friday shopping, I chose to stay home and watch my dramas. I just finished watching this drama. I waited until all the episode were out with subs so I don't have to keep chasing down each one. This story reminds me of an old Chinese tale, the Butterfly Lovers. It is similar in that the girl pretends to be a boy and enters an all boys school. She falls in love with her classmate. What's different is that she was forbidden to be with him because of an arranged marriage back home. It's almost like Romeo and Juliette, Chinese style. And yes, they both ended up dying and turning into butterflies. Sungkyunkwan Scandal ends better in that the two people in love ended up together and alive and growing old together. The cast was great. Lots of handsome men, Micky Yoochun, Song Joong Ki, Yoo Ah In (he sort of reminds me of Junsu for some reason). The main actress, Park Min Young was very cute and I love how all the guys kind of protect her and care for her just like how the male casts in Boys Over Flowers took care of the main actress. It's cute and they bond well together. To be honest, I only watched this drama because of Micky but at the end, I loved all the cast members.

Purchased - The Beginning by JYJ

This was rather weird. I was walking home from work and I usually don't walk that way. There is a store I usually go to buy my cds but that store is out of my way from walking home. But somehow, I ended up walking that way and before I crossed the street, I turned around and took a glimpse at the store. Something caught my eyes. It was a poster stuck on the counter inside the store. Now the counter is located near the door so 1/3 of the poster was visible from where I was standing. I looked at the face that was showing and I couldn't register who it was until maybe a couple of seconds later did I realize it was Micky's face. I did not hesitate to turn towards the store and walk inside. As I got closer to the store, the whole poster became visible and I was overjoyed! I walked inside and walked right over to the Korean section and picked up their cd. I bought it with a big smile on my face. It was the last copy they have in stock. Boy, was I lucky! I should've asked about the poster too but I was just too excited to go home to listen to it that I forgot. Actually, when the digital version came out in October, I really wanted to hear it, but I didn't want to ruin my decision on actually buying the hard copy cd. I want to hear the song from the cd and not from YT. So didn't listen to any of the songs on the album until I bought the actual copy. I want to support them!

To be honest, after I heard all the songs, the one song that I thought stood out the most was Be My Girl. It had a good melody and the lyrics were nice. One thing I noticed greatly was how much their English improved. Speaking and sing English is so different. Junsu's pronunciation is much better in songs than if he was talking. Micky's English is clearer in these songs compared to his slurry English in their Korean songs. Somehow, I felt that Jae's voice wasn't accented too much in these songs. His voice usually stands out in their Korean and Japanese songs but maybe he's just not as comfortable singing in English so I feel like his voice is purposely lowered because of lack of confidence. It's understandable. I would probably do the same. Micky's voice on the other hand stood out for me. He, after all, spent some time in the States so his English speaking level is slightly better. Again, talking and singing in English for him is different. Compare to Junsu, Micky actually speaks English better than in songs. If you noticed that in those shows where they had to speak in English to English speaking people, Micky was always the one speaking and I can hear every word he said. But in their songs, a lot of the rap they do in English have been pretty slurry and I was only able to pick up a few words. It's not until I get to actually see the lyrics that I know what he's saying. But in this English album, his pronunciation is much better and I can hear a lot of the words he's singing.

It's a big step for them to have all songs in English. Props to them! Congratulations to the huge sales and I'm glad they are doing this happily. Although they are only three, I feel like I can hear the other two members in the songs even though I know they're not. It's a matter of waiting and I'm waiting like the many fans out there for them to become one again. In the meantime, let's support them whether they are two or three. Hwaiting!!

SM Town Live in LA

I screamed so much watching them. No, I wasn't there, tho I wished I was. I only watched them on fancam and I'm screaming already. I missed them so so much. Not seeing them 5 together while dancing to those songs that are for 5 makes me sad. But they are nonetheless still so awesome and looking ever so good. Here are some videos of their intro, still as Dong Bang Shin Ki (which by the way, I was screaming with the fans in the video) combined with a Medley of their old songs with the help of Yesung and Kyuhyun from SuJu, a new song Maximum and their solos. Choreography is dynamic as usual. Just one complaint. Changmin needs a haircut. Other than that, superb performances. I love the screams and cheers the fans were giving them. I would be screaming and cheering if I were there ^^ Anyways, enjoy!

Here comes the Bride!! Mike and Jessie's wedding was held at the Golden Unicorn Restaurant in ctown. Everyone dressed up really nice to attend. It wasn't a big wedding. They had maybe around 20 tables of guests but it was fun. The food wasn't all that bad but the waitress who waited on us was. She gave me a weird look when I asked to wrap the leftovers. What?! Never heard of doggy bagging leftovers, lady? Oh wells, I didn't care much for her. Our table was the bestest! Everyone sat together. We made a lot of noise and participated in the games too but Mike and Jessie were too shy and stingy. They don't want to kiss when we request them to. Gotta show the love, people! Anyway, the banquet started around 7ish and we finished closed to 11. The rest of the girls went to their own little after party and I went home. I was so tired, from the 3 inch shoes I was wearing and from lack of sleep. Lucky I didn't go because they didn't come home until 4 in the morning! O.O Everyone had fun. Here are some of my pix. Again, I forgot to charge my battery so I only have pictures up to when my battery totally died on me.

They're back!

My boys! They're back!...no..not back together but back to Korea. JYJ is back to Korea and made this commercial for Lotte Duty Free. I love the CF. It made me so happy! Just seeing them back in their motherland and just seeing that they're happy. I'm still waiting for the day they reunite but it's a start. At least they're all in Korea now. Hope they will have more publicity on other stuff. The video is very cheery and it makes you all bouncy and happy!

Sunday dinner

Here's another one of my Sunday dinners again. Thought of a interesting recipe and thought I'd try it out. I've been to Hana Haru's in Ktown and tried their Spicy Seafood Baked Pumpkin, which btw is really good, so I thought I wanted to make something similar. I also had this seafood pizza there as well. They use mayo, the Japanese kind and drizzled it all over the pizza and topped it with those squid flakes used for Takoyaki. It was good too. One time I decided to try out this gourmet pizza shop around work and they had this pizza that used pumpkin as the sauce and it had slices of prosciutto on top as the topping. It looked really good so I bought a piece to try. At first, I didn't even know that the sauce was make of pumpkin but I tasted some pumpkin pieces and thought it tasted familiar and finally realize what it was. So, I decided to marry the three things together and make a seafood pumpkin pizza. I bought the Pillsbury brand pizza dough so when opened it, it started to stretch so much. I tried to save it but it kept stretching so I had to fold it in half in order to fit it in my pan. I really should've cut it because after the pizza came out, it was too thick. But the bottom was crispy. Overall, the taste was pretty good, tho I felt I should've put in more pumpkin sauce. Since the dough was thick, I had to bake it double the time mentioned on the packaging so the sauce kinda dried up a little bit on the side. Aside from the pizza, I also made mash potatoes from scratch and a seared chicken avocado salad with ginger dressing. Here are the pictures of my creations. Whatcha think?

A day at Governor's Island

Yesterday, I spent a whole day with the girls at Governor Island. We had so much fun! I'm so sore from all the fun I had yesterday.

We started out having lunch/dim sum at Full House. Expectedly most of the girls were late, so Ming and I who were the only ones there started to order and ate while waiting for the other girls to arrive. So one by one, they start arriving and by the time they all got here it was already 12pm. We finished eating and headed to the terminal to take the ferry. Gen's sister came to visit and gave us all a lift to the terminal. YAY! Saved $2.25! Thank you!

When we got there, it didn't take us long to find the terminal. We went in to wait on line to board the ferry. As we were waiting, I decided to interview the girls on how they are feeling going to the island. For most of us, it's our first time so I wanted to know how they feel going to the island. Here it is:

When we got to the island, we went to the bike rental place to rent bikes to ride around the island. They have these bikes that can fit up to six people. Since there were five of us, it was ideal to get one of those. We rented one and when it was available, we all boarded the bike. The instructor, who was kinda cute, gave us directions on how to use the bike. And then we were off! Since the bike was a four wheeler, we had to get use to driving it. This bike actually used a wheel, like the ones in a car, to operate it. There were two steering wheels in the front so Kat and I got on in the front and the rest of the girls piled in the back. We put all our bags in the front basket that's really for kids to sit. Since we didn't have any children, we put all our bags there. It was fun! But since the bike was big, it took so much energy to pedal. Along the way, we switched drivers. At first, I thought both steering wheels worked, but it turned out that only the left one work. So after I drove it, the other girls got a chance to try out the "driver's" seat. Here is a video I took while on the bike:

So we rode the bike for an hour but we were so tired already. It was a good experience tho. You all should go try out the quadcycles. They were so much fun. On our way back to return the bike, we saw three groups of people on three quadcycles racing each other. There were guys and girls. We should definitely make another trip to Gov Island with more guys next time. Then we can race each other and have lots more fun with the other sports too. We stopped half way to let some of the girls off to find a good spot in the picnic area while the rest of us went to return the bike. It was a relieve to ride the bike after some of them got off cuz the bike felt so much lighter. After we returned the bike, we walked back to the picnic area where the other girls found a nice spot under a tree right in front of the swings. Excellent! We were also close by to the fire station. They have a huge open area in front of the station. We used that area to play volleyball later on. So after we ate some food and sat and rested for a while, the swings were finally free so we all ran to get a spot. The other girls were swinging really high. I swung high too but got a little nauseous so I slowed down. Took a vid of the girls on the swings

After the swings, we played badminton and volleyball. Rested and played some more. Finally, it was almost 6 and the park rangers came around to tell us to clean up cuz they have to start sweeping the area. We packed and at first, decided to head over to the man made beach but turns out that there was a concert that evening and the beach was close to only people who bought tickets to see the concert so we ended up taking the ferry back to Manhattan for dinner. Took some pictures on our way from the picnic spot to the ferry.

We were all so tired but we still headed up to Ktown to have dinner. I suggested the Tofu House cuz I remembered they had good tofu soups. We went in to get seats and the hostess said to wait 20 minutes. But guessed what? We waited 1 hr and 20 minutes for the table. She refused to seat us because we weren't all there. But it was really because the tables weren't ready and she had no other excuse because she had said we only needed to wait 20 minutes so she just kept saying that we had to ALL be there. They weren't like this before. I went there a couple of times before and they always seated us even not with everyone there. This time around, they were different. The place got renovated and it looked more fancier. It used to look more family style. So next time, if you EVER decide to go there for dinner, please make sure that everyone is there before you go in to get seats. That way, they won't have an excuse not to seat you.

So anyways, we left the island at 6 something so we probably got there at 7 something. I don't even remember the time we got there but I know we got seated at almost 9. We order the minute we sat down cuz we looked thru the menu while we waited and we knew what we wanted. The waitress didn't seem to have patience with us. She seems so aggravated because we didn't say the same order at once. Jess, Kim, Gen and I ordered the same thing but we said it at different times so she had to erase the amount and rewrite it which apparently got her aggravated. One strike! We had a long table so when she bought out the side dishes, some of us can't reach it so they asked for another set. She got aggravated. Two strikes!! Later when our dishes came out, we didn't have enough room to put them so we tried to move the dished around to make space. She got aggravated because she had to hold the dish for so long waiting for us to make room. Three strikes!!! I think she either was having a bad day, worked a long day, or just didn't like Chinese people. Not sure which one was her reason. I didn't calculate the bill but if I did, I probably wouldn't give her a nice tip because she wasn't very pleasant with us and we waited for our table for so long.

We had more food but we were just so hungry I forgot to take pictures. During dinner, Kat got into a little accident and burned herself with her hot soup. I hope she's ok. We probably won't go back there for a while. I felt bad to have chosen that place. We had to wait and the people there weren't very nice and Kat got into the little accident. Maybe if we had went to the first place I had thought of going we would've had a better time. But I hope you all still had a good time.

After dinner, we were all really tired so we all headed home. Ming and and Kim went to get Pinkberry and Red Mango. Ming went to get Red Mango first and then we went to Pinkberry. She felt awkward going into Pinkberry with a Red Mango cup. Here's a picture of her with her cup of Red Mango yogurt.

After all the desserts, Ellie's friend, Jason offered us a ride home. Thank you! YAY! Saved another $2.25!

Sunday dinner

After the kimchi challenge, I've decided to take up another challenge and make kimbap (Korean sushi rolls). My coworker's girlfriend made some and he shared it with us. It was very good so I wanted to learn how to make it too. I looked thru Maangchi's recipe and the closest she has is Tuna kimbap. Traditional Korean kimbap is made with beef. But she did teach how to treat the beef to use in the kimbap.

So here I go. I bought one pound of ground beef and seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, ginger powder, rice wine. Mix the seasoning with the beef and stir fried until almost done. Then I added some bulgogi sauce. I noticed that the beef stir fried started to become very watery. The juice from the beef was starting to come out. When it was time to pull it off the heat, I just took out the beef and left the juices in the pan. Didn't want the beef to be too watery or it will make the kimbap soggy. I drizzled a little bit more bulgogi sauce on time and mixed it. The rest of the ingredients for the kimbap are very simple and easy to make. Imitation crab meat, yellow radish, and cucumber. Also prepare a small amount of sesame oil to make it extra yummy!

I prepared it like it would when I make my regular sushi rolls. I have the bamboo sheet with the seaweed sheets ready to go. I cooked about 3 and 3/4 cups of rice. I seasoned the rice with vinegar and salt and let it cooled down before using it. So on top to the seaweed sheet, cover 3/4 of it with rice, leaving the further edge with some space to close up the roll. Place a strip of radish, cucumber, crab meat and ground beef. Brush sesame oil onto the areas that was not covered by the filling. Using your fingers, spread some water across the area left to close the roll. Pull the side closest to you over the filling and press with the bamboo sheet. Do it one more time and the water should seal up the opening pretty well. Before cutting into bite size pieces, brush the top side of the roll with sesame oil. Brush sparingly because you have some inside already. Then cut into five to six pieces. There is no need to dip in soy sauce because the seasoned beef already has a lot of flavor. But if you wish, you can. Use low sodium soy sauce if you have since the kimbap is already salted from the rice and the beef. This is how mine came out.

What do you think? Do I pass? I didn't find it tasting like the piece I had from my coworker. I think the beef needs a little more work. Either they use a different kind of beef or they use a different kind of sauce. Whatever it is, I have to find out from my coworker.

I also made some veggy pancakes. I used carrots, leeks, chives, green onions and cut them all into small long pieces. I bought a bag of already prepared pancake batter. All I need to do was add water and whala! After the batter is made, add the chopped veggies into the batter and mix. No need to season because the batter is already perfectly seasoned. Scoop a good amount of batter with veggy into a oiled pan and spread it evenly. Pan fried each side for about 2 minutes. Be careful when you flip it. The batter on top is not quite formed yet. After both sides are nice and golden brown, take it off the pan and cut into four pieces. Eat as is or dip it into soy sauce with roasted sesame seeds sauce. YUM! Here is mine.

You can most definitely use different kinds of veggies. Mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, kimchi, cucumbers. I only chose the veggies I used cuz I had them lying around in my fridge.

They were promoting these Taiwanese sweet sausages in the market where I was shopping for my food so I brought two packs to try. It was very good. I made sausage kabobs with onions, bell peppers and cherry tomatoes. Before you do anything, first soak the bamboo skewer sticks in water. You want to do this so when you grill, they don't catch on fire because after all they are wood and can burn. While the sticks get soaking, start working on the sausages. First peel off the casing because it will make your sausage tough and then cut into small bite size pieces. Cut the veggies into big bite size pieces and skewer them together. Drizzle the skewers with olive oil and salt and place them on the grill. When both sides have grill marks, remove and serve. Here's how mine came out.

Kimchi!

Eureka! I've found a channel on YT dedicated to Korean food. I checked it out and found a recipe for Kimchi. So I took the challenge and tried it out myself. The ingredients aren't that hard to find and although the procedure looked difficult and long, it really wasn't. But since it was my first time making it, it did take me a while. I am an amateur with Korean food but the kimchi didn't turn out to be so bad. So I guess that's the first step into learning Korean food. I'm not going to go into how I made it since you can check out her channel here ~~> Maangchi. But here is the kimchi that I made. I had extra sauce left over so I used it to make cucumber kimchi. But it didn't look too picturesque so I didn't take a picture of it. But here is my kimchi.

What do you think? I let my boss taste it and she like it. She thought I had bought it from the store so I guess that's a compliment? hehehe...Yafei said it wasn't sour enough. I guess cuz it wasn't marinated for too long. I brought some to work two days after making it so it was only marinating for two days. But I think if I let marinate longer, it would taste a lot better. Kimchi is like red wine...the longer the better.

Post Partnum Toronto Trip 2010

I only had that day I returned to rest and the next day, I had to head to work. Suckage! Anyways, I pretty much was thinking of all the funny stuff that happened on our trip and compiled all the stuff I can remember that cracked us up bad. But it's harder to write it because you had to be there at that moment to laugh as hard as we did. There were little moments that I thought totally needed like a video camera on standby to catch it. I've collected all the "Cracked-Us-Up-Real-Bad" moments and you know, we laughed at every weird looking thing we found so there was a lot of laughter...bahahaha!

Day 1:
1. Ming asked me if she can tag along a purchase with me at Yesasia. I said sure since I shop there a lot. I've build up credit that they "charge me free shipping" at $50.

2. On the plane, they gave us a free blueberry cupcake/muffin looking thing. I wanted to save it for later so I stuffed it in my bag. When we got to the hotel, it looked like this:

3. At the sushi restaurant, as we finished our meal, Ming asked me what they do with the white turnip strings used for decoration. But I thought she was pointing to the boat they used to serve the sashimi in so I said "They wash it and reuse it for the next person who orders sashimi" She looked at me weird probably wondering how the heck they wash those strips of turnip AND reuse it.

Day 2:
1. At the Korean Fair, a guy from a cell phone company was trying to sell me this phone. That $800 phone I mentioned. So since he was trying to hard, I asked him "Is the phone unlocked?" He said "Oh yeah, I already flicked the switch to unlock it" For a moment, I thought "Wow, they've gotten so advance in Canada. They have phones that you can unlock yourself to use world wide?" Then he shows me that switch he used to unlock the phone with. Aigoo! I didn't mean that kind of unlocking. I meant if I am able to use it with other phone companies. He finally caught on, that silly man! Here's the phone he showed me:

2. We went around looking for a carry on luggage for Gen and finally found one in the Viet Chinatown. We used it to carry all the stuff we bought that day. We took turns wheeling it. So comes my turn. It was night time and we headed back to our hotel to buy food. We had to cross this street with NO traffic light. At first, Ming Gen and I were standing together. Then all of a sudden, Ming and Gen sprinted out to the center and I was stuck on the side. They waited for me. I found the chance to cross when there was a car coming from afar. I was wheeling and had my earplugs hung around my ears. As I ran, my earplugs were banging against my ears and I was running like a FOB trying to avoid the incoming traffic. Ming laughed at me because of my bobbing earplugs and for running funny.

Day 3:
1. At T&T market, we were at the candy isle. Gen was looking for candy and this little girl in a stroller next to her gave her the mean look, you know, the glare. Ming and I were picking cherry tomatoes. Gen comes over to tell us that if you wave at her, she looks at you mean. So Ming goes over to try. Nothing. Later, I go over to try. Nothing. Sigh...Gen, it must be you LOL!

2. Ming and I found these orange tangerine citrus looking fruits. We didn't know what it was but the zest smelled so good so we decided to buy it. We bought 2 to try, I think. They were the weirdest looking citrus fruits. They were a very pretty orange color and the tip of the fruit was pointed out. It looks like a Christmas ornament. The name was a weird one too. Forgot what it was called. So when we got back to our hotel, I took it out of the bag and I had one in each hand in front of me with the pointy part sticking up. Yeah, you can imagine what was going thru our heads. We just cracked up. Ming later googled it and found that it was half tangerine and half grapefruit. It's a fruit mutt. It's called a Tangelo. It tasted very good...sour but sweet, it was soursweet! ^^

Day 4:
1. We went into a "hum jing" store. Cost us an arm and a leg...for some of us, maybe even more. ^^

2. We were at a 99 cents store at Market Village and Gen saw these BB guns. She said she wanted to get one for Doris and Ming and I were just wondering why Doris would still be interested in playing with toy guns since she's a big girl now. Gen said there is this guy downstairs by their home that laughs in a perverted creepy way. How would I spell it...HIYECK! HIYECK! HIYECK! so she wants to use the gun to shoot BB bullets at him. Maybe he sounded like this:

3. On the way back to our hotel on the bus from PM, we encountered a funny daddy and son. They were already seated when we got on. The son was falling asleep so he nodding off. When their stop came, the dad was unable to wake his son. He tried poking his chest and hitting his face. Finally he woke and walked groggily off the bus. We watch and laughed at how cute the son was. That little boy was probably 6 or 7. Then Ming told me this story about her seeing this lady with a son. The son fell asleep on the train and when their stop came, the mom was unable to wake him, so she just took his hands and walked out of the train anyways. Lo and behold, the son who still had his eyes closed, runs into a pole. LOL!

Day 5:
1. We went into a gift shop at Niagara Falls and saw these hand puppets. Started playing around with them and decided to make a vid. Here it is:

2. on Day 4, I woke up with this bite on my hand. I suspect that it was from bedbugs. I used Neosporin on it and put a bandage over it. After we arrived at the bus station at Niagara Falls, Ming and I used the bathroom. After I came out of the bathroom, I noticed that my bandage was gone. I thought, it must've came off when I was washing my hands. So I didn't give it much thought. It wasn't until we got back to our hotel that Ming noticed it stuck on the butt side of my shirt. It was there all along while we were outside waiting for the bus. Those people who were giving me the stare was probably wondering why there was a bandage on my butt. How embarrassing!

3. So the trip ends and the next day we will be taking the flight back to NY. Ming IMs Jackie to help us arrange for car service. He will be picking her up nearby her home since our flight should be arriving early evening. There is this Chinese temple around the corner from Ming's building called "Wong Dai Seen" But Jackie didn't know how to say that thru AIM so he just said he'll wait for her in front of "Mr. Huang's temple"

Day 6:
1. At the airport checking in, we had to go thru customs. When it was my turn, I handed the officer my passport. I had forgotten to take out the red envelop that my mom gave me for my trip and the stub from the trip to Toronto. When the officer opened up my passport, my red envelop fell and he used the elbow part of his arm and the side of his belly to catch it. He had one hand holding my passport open and the other hand holding the stamp. So seeing this, I went to get the red envelop that's still caught between the side of his belly and his elbow. After I got it, he said "Now don't get too friendly" and smiled at me. Bahaha! He asked if I have anything else that might fall out in case the "too friendly" incident happens again.

So those are all the mentionable funny stuff that happened on our trips. There were some unmentionables that were funny too but it's best if I don't go into those *wink wink*

Toronto Trip day 6 - Ktown and flight back to NY

We woke up at 8am today hoping we can spare some time to visit this Korean market close by to buy some last minute snacks to bring back. It was pouring outside. We finished up with the packing and went out to the market. It had just opened so we were like the only ones there. We bought some stuff and some food to eat for breakfast. They made some fresh Ddok bok gi and was still warm so Gen and I bought some. They also had some fresh Japche (chop cheh!!) so I bought a box of that too. Ming and I also bought a box of kimbap which is sushi. She got the beef one and I got the veggy one. We walked back to our hotel to eat it and then checked out at 12 to head to the airport. Turns out I had to check in my luggage too because it was too heavy. Aigoo! So we all had baggage to check in. The flight back was so fast. I was trying to watch "Valentine's Day" and it cut me off when I was only like 20 minutes into it. Hmph! So we landed early but they kept us on the plane for a whole hour because they couldn't find those things that connect the plane to the terminal. Shouldn't they have that ready already? So I guess they didn't have to spare so we had to drive over to another terminal that has one already assembled up. After that, we had to walked this long way to get to the baggage claim and the baggages weren't even ready to come out yet so that was another 15 minutes of waiting. Our luggages came tumbling down the conveyor belt and Gen was so worried that all her snacks will be crushed. After we retrieved all our luggage, we used the bathroom and headed out. The driver who was supposed to pick us up was late because of the rain but when he arrived and called me, we were still waiting for our luggage so he, in return, had to wait for us. I was so relieved when I finally got into his car. I can finally go home and rest! I was falling asleep on the way home because there was traffic and it was raining hard. The driver dropped Gen off and then Ming and I was last.

Overall, we had a fun time. Although there was A LOT of walking, there was also A LOT of eating too...so we didn't really loose much weight on our trip. We might have gain some too! hahaha..

Toronto Trip Day 5 - Niagara Falls

YAY! the day has come to visit Niagara Falls! I didn't get to visit it last time so I was excited to see it. The bus ride there was a little longer than expected. When we got there, we had to walk like 20 minutes to reach the actual fall. It was sunny and the road wasn't all that wide so we had to walk carefully in order not to get hit by cars. The whole time we walked we saw bed and breakfast places. People's homes that were located near the river were all converted to bed and breakfasts. Some of them looked kind of run down but there were some that were really nice. When we were about 10 minutes away from the falls, we could see it thru the bridge. It was so pretty!

So finally we reached Niagara Falls. But we got side tracked by a duty free shop so we went in there to look around. Turns out we can't purchase anything from there unless we're going back to NY right after. Bleh, waste of time looking thru it. We left and went to look for a place to eat our box food. We took the liberty to buy lunch from Toronto so we wouldn't have to buy the expensive food at Niagara Falls. We looked and looked and found the perfect place to eat it. There was this little bench right in the middle of a grassy area directly across from one of the falls. So it was perfect. We ate and watched the fall at the same time. It was sunny but the bench was right under a tree so it was breezy and shady. So nice. A couple of kids were running around near us and they stopped to watch us eat. LOL! I guess they were hungry too. Gen and Ming got the same thing again...Curry chicken over rice. I got a beef chow fun with black bean sauce. It was still good after it got cold tho the noodles kinda stuck together so it took a little muscle to eat it. After we ate, we walked the gift shops first. We had a hella good time in one of them. We left the shops without buying anything. They didn't have much that we wanted to buy.

We headed back to the river to see the falls. We saw a lot of people going on the Maiden of the Midst. They take you very up close to the falls so they provided raincoats. So all I saw were little dots of blue and yellow on the boats. We only stayed close by the New York falls. The Horseshoe falls was too far away. We only took zoomed in pictures of it. LOL! The waterfall made a lot of mist so it almost seemed like it had smoke. It was pretty. I made a few vids of it as well. We stay by the falls for about 2 hrs maybe and then started walking back to the bus stop. The walk back to the bus stop was so long...or maybe it felt long because we were so tired from walking around at Niagara Falls already. We kept seeing cars go by and wished we were in them so we didn't have to walk. It was still sunny so it was hot and we were thirsty. When we finally reached near the bus stop, we went into a convenience store to buy a drink. Ah...Fountain of Life!! Water is GOOOOOD!

We took longer to get back to Toronto because the bus had to make a few extra stops. The bus was late picking us up so by the time we got back to Toronto, it was almost 11. We went to find a place to eat. Ming and I was thinking of going back to this Korean Grill that we saw the first time since our hotel was nearby the first time we visited Toronto. But they had the chairs up on the tables already so we had to look for another place. We ended up going to the habachi place again. We went there for lunch on the day of Pacific Mall the first time we visited. They had a new menu. Gen and I ordered a red curry soup and beef & tofu udon and Ming ordered a beef & tofu yakisoba.

I claimed a new family member too. The boy that was making our food looked so young and cutie. Kinda looked like my image of a little brother. So I secretly claimed him as my little brother. It was already past 11pm and he still had to cook. I felt so sorry for him. Every time when he was getting ready to eat his dinner, a customer comes in to order. The poor boy couldn't even have a peaceful dinner. Ming and Gen said I was overly caring for him. I figured, if I really had a younger brother like him and he had to worked so late, I would be worry sick. Ah wells. We left after we finished eating so they can clean and close up for the night. Didn't want to keep "my little brother" working so late. We were trying to figure out a name for him. I came up with Teriyaki Boy! LOL! But I felt bad for calling him that so I just called him lil bro. Ming and Gen will have to call him Yan's lil bro. LOL!!! Anyways, we went into a pharmacy to get some stuff and while we were in there, a lady came in who had just got mugged right outside the pharmacy. Her bag strap was broken and I saw dirt stains on her clothes. I was so shocked and scared. I thought Toronto was pretty safe. I was kind of afraid to go back outside. Luckily the train station was right around the corner of the pharmacy. Ming bought a huge bottle of water so I held it for protection. I would use it to whack the guy and then pour it all over him if he happens to be around. Luckily we got to the station safely and took it back to our hotel.

Sigh, tomorrow is the flight back to New York. We've been here for five days now. Went by so quickly. Somehow, it didn't feel very Toronto-y this time around. Maybe we've been to all place that had similar people and stores as New York so I didn't feel like I was in Canada. Our flight tomorrow will be at 3pm so it's perfect timing. We check out of our hotel at 12 and head out. Need to be at the airport early since we don't know how long it will take the check in our luggage. It'll be raining but I hope it will just drizzling. Don't want to deal with the umbrellas. See you all back in New York!!
